NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Saturday, November 23, 2024)-- Salve Regina University women's ice hockey beat Albertus Magnus College for the second day in a row with the opening goal from Emily Wroblewski, the middle two from Samantha McKenzie and the final strike from Jennifer Drevitch.

History: Yesterday, the second time in program history the Seahawks faced the Falcons, Salve won 3-1. Ashtyn Bringardner scored the two opening Seahawk goals and Reese Pereira added in for the third. 

NOTEWORTHY

• Emily Wroblewski wasted no time finding the back of the net when she scored just 1:12 into period one. Wroblewski received a pass from Grace Dumond and skated right for the net, faking to one side and sliding the puck in past Falcons' Christmas Johnson.
• Ariana Martin made a move for Albertus three minutes later in a short handed situation when she broke away from Salve Regina's defenders and scored from right in front of the net. 
• Samantha McKenzie scored her first two goals of the year, giving her ten career goals, in the first period. The first one was about five minutes into the period and the second with 19:59 on the clock. 
• Jennifer Drevitch also netted her first goal as a Seahawk, the only scoring action in period two. 
• Taylor Hannafan made 16 saves while Salve Regina Forced Christmas Johnson to make 38 saves.

Salve Regina is back in Rhode Island next week on Tuesday, November 26, when they host NESCAC Wesleyan University at 7:30 p.m.
