NEWPORT, RI. -- (Thursday, September 12, 2024)-- Salve Regina University volleyball powered through four solid sets before falling 3-1 to the Simmons University Sharks in a lively match at the Rodgers Recreation Center.
The first two sets were consistently back-and-forth. Tied at 21 in the first set, Simmons three kills got them ahead. Coincidentally, both teams tied at 21 in the second set, but what got the Seahawks ahead was a Shark attack error, a kill from Lily Dobbins, a service ace from Anouk Jansen and a pair of kills from Lucy Swanson. The Sharks endurance was a factor later in the day when they went 25-11 to end the match at four sets.
