NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- (Tuesday, September 17, 2024)-- In nonconference action Salve Regina university field hockey notched another win with five different athletes scoring in the 6-0 shutout of UMass Dartmouth on the Corsairs' Cressy Field.

History: The Seahawks have a 10-4 win-loss record against the Corsairs which began with a 3-0 win during the 2002 season.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Salve Regina outshot UMass Dartmouth 11-0 in the first quarter however it wasn't until just over 20 minutes into the contest that Jordyn Pineau scored the opening goal making it 1-0 in favor of the Seahawks.
- The Seahawks scored twice within the first ten minutes of the second half thanks to Julia Decker and Angelina Regels.
- Although Salve Regina already had a 3-0 lead, Shannon Kennedy and Kira Spedden made it impossible for the Corsairs to come back from the deficit when Kennedy scored to open the final period and Spedden netted two more goals in a five minute span to end the day 6-0.
- In total, Salve Regina had 25 shots on goal over UMass Dartmouth's two attempts.
- The Seahawks also had the advantage of 15 penalty corners with UMass only having two.

The Seahawks first NEWMAC contest of 2024 will take place on Saturday, September 21, on the road against Springfield College at 1 p.m.
