SPRINGFIELD, Mass.. -- (Saturday, September 21, 2024)-- Shannon Kennedy scored twice in the first five minutes of action in Salve Regina University field hockey's first NEWMAC win of the season for a 4-1 final score against host Springfield College.

History: Last year the Seahawks and Pride saw each other for the first time during Slave Regina's inaugural year in the conference. The Seahawks won 5-4.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Shannon Kennedy now leads the Seahawks with six goals on the season.
- Georgia Costello scored Salve Regina's third goal against Springfield after she nabbed the ball from a Pride defender and netted a one-one-one goal.
- Audrey Hayes was the Pride's only goal scorer after she got possession right in front of the Seahawk net.
- With four minutes left to play Angelina Regels scored immediately following a penalty corner to make it a 4-1 game.
- Salve Regina outshot Springfield 12-11.Â
