NEWPORT, R.I. -- (Saturday, September 28, 2024)-- Led by Lauren Hoyle with 16 kills and Lydia Daskalos with four blocks the Salve Regina University volleyball team beat NEWMAC opponent Mount Holyoke College 3-2 on Saturday making them 2-0 in the conference.

History:Â Salve Regina is 4-1Â all-time against Mount Holyoke. In 2023, the Seahawks first year competing in the NEWMAC, Mount Holyoke won 3-1.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Salve Regina overcame a 25-22 loss in set one, and won sets two, three and five to secure the victory. Mount Holyoke's nine consecutive points was the difference maker in the first set.
- Set three was the Seahawks strongest showing, even though the Lyons got on the board first, Salve Regina stopped Mount Hoyloke at just 16 points. 14 of the team's 47 kills came in set three.
- The Seahawks posted a hitting percentage of .146 while the Lyons percentage stood at .078.
- To secure set five, the Seahawks went on a five-point run, which began with two Lyon attack errors and a Kill by Anouk Jansen.
- Following Lauren Hoyle's 16 kills was Lucy Swanson's 12 and Anouk Jansen's eight.
- Siena DeCicco had 32 assists and Lily Dobbins had 25 digs.
