MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- (Friday, September 6, 2024)-- Salve Regina University women's volleyball relented 3-0 to Wesleyan University after the Cardinals established 25-9 win in set one and kept their momentum going across the remaining two sets.
The Seahawks second set was their strongest, with a 25-16 outcome. Salve Regina had ten to Wesleyan's 12 kills and thanks to Anouk Jansen and Kate Andy the team had two service aces during the set.

History: Since the 2006 season the Seahawks are 0-4 against the Cardinals. Last year Salve Regina suffered a 3-0 loss to Wesleyan. The Cardinals went on to finish the 2023 season with a 24-2 overall record and a 10-0 NESCAC record. After winning the 2023 conference championship Wesleyan advanced to the third round of the DIII NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated in a 3-0 match to Johns Hopkins University.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Seahawks will return home on Thursday, September 12, for a 7 p.m. match against the Simmons University Sharks.
