Gina Richard got the scoring going in Salve Regina University women's ice hockey's 4-1 victory over NEHC adversary UMass Boston in their second game back after the holiday break.

History: The Seahawks are 13-15 all-time against UMass Boston. Today's win was the first since a 5-0 shutout on February 7, 2015. The most recent meeting was a 2-1 loss on December 1, 2018. Taylor Chisholm '19 was the only Seahawk who scored in the encounter.
NOTEWORTHY
- It was a mild start to the game for both teams with no scoring until nearly 15 minutes into the first period. Gina Richard struck at the 14:32 mark with an assist from Samantha McKenzie and Sarah Bush.
- Riley Esposito added in another first period goal before both teams went scoreless until the final 20 minutes.
- Emma Pereira and Samantha McKenzie extended the Seahawks to a 4-0 lead before the Beacons' Gianna Skrelja took advantage of a power play in the final four minutes to get UMass Boston on the board.
- Seahawk goalie Taylor Hannafan made 19 saves while Beacons' goalie Veronika Hadamovsky saw 23 saves.
- Salve Regina put a stop to the Beacons unbeaten conference record of 6-0-0.
