Records: Salve Regina (5-4-3,4-4-0 NEHC), Wesleyan (1-6-1,1-3-0 NESCAC)
History: Including today's meeting the Seahawks and Cardinals have faced off six times in program history. The last meeting, on November 28, 2021, was a 4-1 victory for Salve. The teams' first competition was a 7-3 loss for the Seahawks on December 8, 2006.

NOTEWORTHY:
  • Wesleyan established themselves on the ice early on with an immediate face off win and two shots on goal in the first 12 seconds of the contest. Aidan Elkins launched the Seahawks first shot on goal 1:47 into the day and Hammel, with an assist from Jack Franklin, used the momentum to convert shortly after in an even strength situation.
  • The Cardinals outshot the Seahawks 14-9 after one period and sat just ahead of Salve with a 10-9 face off advantage.
  • The trajectory of the evening did not change until period three, with no scoring until Logan Calder's power play goal (assisted by Walter Baumann and Quinn Tavares) 15:10 into the third period.
  • Wesleyan's Andrew Haxton scored one even strength and one short handed goal in quick succession with three minutes in regulation to send the game into overtime 2-2. Nothing changed in the sudden-victory OT but Hammel and Calder slid the puck past Cardinal's goalie Patrick McDevitt while only one attempt made it to the back of the Seahawks net. Salve Regina claimed a 2-1 shootout win.
  • McDevitt made 25 saves while Seahawks' Cayden Bailey posted 30 stops in four periods.
