CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- (Friday, October 10, 2025)-- Salve Regina University field hockey senior
Julia Decker scored in the opening six minutes of play against the hosting Massachusetts Institute of Technology Engineers but the host answered with three goals to clam a NEWMAC 3-1 win over the Seahawks.
The teams held a Play4TheCure game to support cancer awareness and research. In addition, it was a NEWMAC sportsmanship game as part of the conference's NEWMAC-wide sportsmanship initiative. MIT passed along the conference sportsmanship banner to Salve Regina before the game started. Athletes from each institution are encouraged to sign the banner and write an anecdote reflecting on the positive sportsmanship they experienced during the game or season.
