Seahawks fall to Beavers, hold NOSOLO night

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Salve Regina University women's volleyball relented 3-0 to Babson College in NEWMAC play at Rodgers Recreation Center after three aggressive back-and-forth sets Tuesday night.

Salve was first to get on the board in sets one and three and saw several two and three point leads in the third set, however Babson was able to surge ahead 25-20, 25-21 and 25-22 with the last set being the closest.

Salve women's volleyball partnered with NOSOLO for the game to raise awareness for the importance of mental health. Mental health is something nearly every athlete faces challenges with, which is why the Seahawks feel so strongly about supporting this cause. History: Salve women's volleyball is 3-6 all-time against Babson. Since joining the NEWMAC in 2023 the Beavers have a 3-0 advantage. In 2024 the Seahawks achieved a 1-0 lead early in the match but the Beavers were the eventual winner with a 3-1 final score.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Anouk Jansen was an offensive leader with six kills followed by Lucy Swanson who tallied five. Jansen is the Seahawks' season leader in the kill category with 158 to date.
  • Swanson also recorded two service aces.
  • Kalena Stavish had ten assists as the team leader for the match.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Seahawks host a tri-match on Saturday, November 1 at Rodgers Recreation Center. At 11 a.m. Salve Regina faces Johnson & Wales, at 1 p.m. JWU plays Brandeis University in a neutral site match and at 3 p.m. the Seahawks go up against Brandeis.
