SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Salve Regina University field hockey lead 2-1 in the middle of the second quarter but Western New England went on a scoring run in the second half to garner a 5-3 win in non-conference play at Golden Bear Stadium Wednesday night.
The Golden Bears got an early lead after firing off a series of shots 12:36 into the first quarter. The Seahawks counteracted when
Adelaide Baird '28 started the second quarter off with a goal, followed by another Seahawk success from
Julia Decker '29. Western New England tied the game 2-2 going into halftime and the third quarter was the turning point for the hosing Golden Bears.

History: The Seahawks are 16-12 all-time against the Golden Bears in field hockey. In 2024 Western New England won 5-2 but in 2023 the Seahawks came away with a 2-1 victory.
