ELMIRA, N.Y. (Saturday, November 1, 2025)-- The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team was overpowered by Elmira College 6-0 after a breakaway third period by the Soaring Eagles.
Salve Regina only trailed 1-0 going into period three but with 11 shots on goal in the final frame Elmira was able to find five opportunities to convert and surge ahead.

History: Salve Regina beat Elmira twice early in the 2024-25 season with 3-1 and 1-0 victories.
Riley Esposito scored the game winning goal in the second period of the 1-0 shutout. Goalie
Taylor Hannafan made 75 saves across the two games. In the second round of the New England Hockey Conference Women's Championship Tournament the Seahawks were eliminated by the Soaring Eagles 4-2 which ended Salve Regina's season, but not without a historic 17-10-0 overall finish and 14-4-0 NEHC record. Yesterday, in both teams first game of the 2025-26 season Elmira found a 2-0 win.
