Seahawks slash Lancers, 4-0

NEWPORT, R.I.. (Tuesday, November 11, 2025)-- Kiersten Rasmussen bookended the Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team's scoring efforts with her first two collegiate goals in the Seahawks' 4-0 shutout victory over visiting Worcester State Universiry at Howard Rink.

Before the game the Seahawks honored Veterans Day with a ceremonial puck drop by Captain Sharon McGinnis. McGinnis is a graduate of Roger's High School and earned her commission from Lewis University's Army ROTC Program in 1994 as a Medical Service Corp Officer with a branch detail to the U.S. Army Medical Department. She was deployed to Tuzla, Bosnia in support of operation joint endeavor and served as the Medical Liaison Officer to 1st Infantry Division Forward (EAD), Medical Task Force 61.

Her awards include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge.
