Seahawks slip 1-0 to Wildcats after two scoreless periods

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.. -- Salve Regina University women's ice hockey was overpowered 1-0 by Johnson & Wales University when the Wildcats scored with ten minutes remaining in the final period of action at Howard Rink on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks and Wildcats were evenly matched in the first period with the host outshooting the visitor 9-7. Although both teams fired off 10 shots on goal in the final frame, Johnson & Wales was able to find the back of the net with a shot from the slot at the 10:23 mark in the period.
