PINE VALLEY, N.Y. (Saturday, February 1, 2025)-- Senior captain
Brendan Kim scored his first goal of the season after returning from an injury in the final three minutes of action to establish Salve Regina men's ice hockey 2-1 above the host Elmira College.

Matthew Brunton had the opening goal of the game at 5:44 in the second period. The Soaring Eagles led 2-1 going into the third period but
Jack Franklin tied it up. Elmira converted 2:10 into overtime.
NOTEWORTHY:
- With 34 seconds remaining in the first period Soaring Eagles' Eric Bertlesen broke the stalemate with a slap shot from just inside the blue line. Bertlesen took advantage of a power play situation after the Seahawks were called for boarding.
- Moments into the second period Brunton scored from right in front of the net on the left side after receiving a pass from Arvega Hovsepyan. This tied the game at 1-1 at 1:06 in period two.
- Brendan Kim netted his first goal of the season with just over two minutes to go in regulation to break the 1-1 tie that held since the beginning of the second period.
- In an effort to tie the game Elmira pulled Brody Haynes from the net in the last minute of play but the Seahawks defended against the extra skater and claimed a 2-1 verdict.
- Hovsepyan had assists on both goals to put him at seven goals and 23 assists for a combined 30 points as the Seahawks leader this season.
- Cayden Bailey made 28 saves with his most shots faced at 14 in the third period.
- Haynes made 24 saves for the Soaring Eagles.
ON THE HORIZON
Next week men's ice hockey is traveling again. The team will be in Northfield, Vermont on Friday, February 7, for a 7 p.m. puck drop against Norwich University.
