NOTEWORTHY
  • In similar fashion to yesterday, Emily Wroblewski scored the first goal of the game. Wroblewski advanced the Seahawks 2-0 on Friday. Her first success was just 1:15 into the game and her second came at 13:49 mark in the third period.
  • Before the first period buzzer sounded the Pilgrims were able to convert following a turnover right in front of the Seahawks net that bounced in at the 18:09 mark.
  • Salve Regina got to work in the second period. Led by Samantha McKenzie, who converted twice the visiting Seahawks were up 3-2, with Meadow Gilchrist of NEC also finding the back of the net between McKenzie's goals.
  • The teams were once again tied going into intermission when a Pilgrims power play allowed for a shot from the attack zone face off dot to make it over the shoulder of Livia Krzywulak in goal.
  • With four minutes to go in the game in the Seahawks end NEC and Salve battled it out along the boards. The Pilgrims won the skirmish and quickly dumped it into their zone. With a pass from behind the net, Olivia Lindberg was able to give the Pilgrims a brief 4-3 lead.
  • 20 seconds later the Seahawks were awarded a penalty shot after a skater trapped the puck in the crease. Emily Wroblewski backhanded it in with her fourth goal of the weekend.
  • A 4-4 tie sent the foes to overtime. It didn't take long for the Seahawks to create a two-on-one play as they brought the puck down the ice. Gina Richard passed across to Riley Esposito who left NEC's defenders in the dust and scored right in front of the net 10 seconds into OT.
ON THE HORIZON
