MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Sunday, February 16, 2025)-- The visiting Skidmore College Thoroughbreds' early lead carried through the game against the hosting Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team in a 6-2 Seahawk shortfall in the final game of the regular season.

History: Yesterday Salve Regina beat Skidmore 4-3 with a pair of goals from
Matthew Brunton and successes from
Quinn Tavares and
Logan Calder.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Similar to yesterday's 2-0 lead, Skidmore got ahead early with two goals in the first 20 minutes of action
- Braeden Young scored his first goal of the season and his second career goal less than a minute into the second period.
- The turning point of the game came in the second period when Skidmore sank a set of goals and posted 14 shots on net to make it a 4-1 score. The visitor out shot the host 37-27 over the course of the game.
- Max Jaldung began the third period in a one-on-one skater versus goalie play after receiving a cross ice pass from Jonathan Hammel to upgraded the score to 4-2. However, Skidmore's empty-netter followed by an even strength snipe awarded them a 6-2 victory.
ON THE HORIZON
Salve Regina is currently in fourth place in the NEHC. Skidmore, University of Southern Maine, UMass Boston, Norwich University, Hobart College, Babson College, VTSU Castleton, Elmira College, Albertus Magnus and New England College will finish up conference play on Saturday, February 22. After the remainder of league play is complete next weekend seeding for the NEHC eight-team postseason tournament will be established.
