MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Saturday, February 22, 2025)-- Salve Regina University men's lacrosse Junior Chris Koltzan achieved a hat trick, three goals, in the Seahawks 12-7 victory over the visiting Privateers of SUNY Maritime at Gaude Field. Salve Regina keeps a winning record of 3-0 with today's verdict.

History: Salve Regina is 3-3 against SUNY Maritime in men's lacrosse since the 2017 season. Last year the Privateers won in a close 8-7 encounter on their home turf in Throggs Neck, New York.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Face off specialist and NEWMAC Athlete of the Week last week Justin Haverly scored immediately off the first face offf following a ground ball pickup to set the tone for the game.
- A three-goal run to end the first quarter and start the second put the Privateers ahead 4-2. However, the Seahawks scored three goals of their own before halftime and netted five goals in the third quarter to bring about a reliable 10-6 lead going into the final 15 minutes of the contest.
- Christopher Bethoney provided the final blow for the Privateers with less than one minute to go on the scoreboard with an extra man opportunity.
- Seahawk goalie William Kein made five saves and achieved his third win of the season.
- Maritime's Michael Monahan made a sizable 25 saves.
