MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Tuesday, February 25, 2025)-- Salve Regina University women's lacrosse yielded 11-8 to the visiting Johnson & Wales University Wildcats at Gaudet Field after JWU went on a 6-0 run in the second quarter.

History: Salve Regina relented 23-10 when the teams last met at home on March 10, 2018.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats got on the board with. 7:37 to go in the first quarter and continued this momentum to achieve a 2-0 lead before Daniella Bruno was able to convert on a free position shot to make it a close 2-1 game going into the second quarter.
- JWU was dominant in the second quarter with a 6-0 run to put them ahead 8-1 by the end of the first half. Madeleine Gould and Susannah Brown were each responsible for two goals over the course of the quarter.
- To begin the second half Cameron Baston put a stop to the Wildcats' front with a goal at the 13:36 mark.
- Despite a 4-0 run to end the fourth quarter, thanks to Cameron Baston, Nora Cooney, Daniella Bruno and Edie Threshie, Salve Regina was unable to make up the entire deficit they faced.
- Salve Regina scored six of their eight goals in the second half.
- Goalie Flynn Kayajan made 10 saves while Wildcats' Emma Glyman totaled nine saves.

Salve Regina will be back home on Saturday, March 1, at 4 p.m. to host Eastern Connecticut State University following the men's lacrosse 1 p.m. game against Nichols College.
