INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final
: Salve Regina 5, Norwich 1
Records: Salve Regina (1-9-3, 9-9-0 NEHC), Norwich (10-8-3, 9-5-2 NEHC)
History: Yesterday Norwich came from behind to take a 5-4 overtime lead. Clark Kerner was the hero for Norwich with his overtime goal. This was the teams first meeting since Oct. 30, 2021.

NOTEWORTHY:
  • Arvega Hovsepyan got the Seahawks a 1-0 lead similar to yesterday's early success. Hovsepyan took advantage of a power play with the Cadets' Kerner in the box for cross-checking. His right circle snipe awarded him his eighth goal of the season and the second power play goal of the weekend for the Seahawks. This was Salve Regina's 20th power play goal of the year and the 12th allowed by Norwich. The 1-0 score Hovsepyan established at the 13:47 mark in the first period held throughout the initial 20 minutes.
  • Norwich came out of the intermission strong to tie the game with just under seven minutes gone from the clock. Ben Waterschoot possessed the puck behind the net and fed it to Johnny Johnson, who tipped it past Selby Warren in net. Although the Seahawks didn't manage a shot on net until later in the period the first one, a  backhanded pass to Max Jaldung, made it by Cadets' Sami Molu. Salve Regina reclaimed the lead at 2-1. This was Jaldung's second success of the season.
  • Cade DeStefani kept the game moving and extended the visitor's lead to 3-1 off a breakaway play three minutes into the final period of regulation. DeStefani stuck again at the 9:38 mark making it a 4-1 game. Molu initially was able to make the save with his left pad but the rebound made its way right back to DeStefani for the goal.
  • The final blow came at 13:21 when DeStefani's backhanded pass made it to Jaldung who scored before sliding into the boards behind the net. With this lead the Cadets made a goalie switch, bringing in Owen Hains, who saw ice time for the first game this season.
  • Warren made 34 saves in 59:58. He faced 16 shots, the Cadets' game high, in the second period.
  • Molu made 21 saves for the 53:21 that he was on the ice. Salve Regina's 10 shots on net in the first period was their highest count.
