Game Recap: Baseball |

#2 Seahawks downed by Ospreys, Tigers on day three in Florida

AUBURNDALE, F.L.- The Salve Regina baseball team battled with Stockton and eventually fell 6-5 in a close game at the RussMatt Invitational before slipping 9-6 in game two against Rochester Institute of Technology despite a late countermove.

In game one Salve Regina got an early lead when Tyler Petrosino's single and Christian Homa's double got base runners in motion in the bottom of the first inning. A wild pitch and a passed ball scored two Osprey runs but the Seahawks would take a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, thanks to singles from Christian Homa, Wil McCarthy and Shea Donovan. Stockton came from behind to win the game with a surge in the seventh inning initiated by mid inning double from Nate Avagnano.

In game two the Tigers established an 8-0 lead by the bottom of the sixth inning. Christiann Homa's two RBI double in the top of the seventh inning brought Evan O'Rourke and Tyler Petrosino home and got the Seahawks on the board. Shea Donovan, Dylan Cimini and Shane Williams all crossed the plate before nine innings were up, still just shy of the Tigers nine runs.
