NEW LONDON, Conn. (Saturday, March 15, 2025)-- Aidan McIntyre put Salve Regina University men's lacrosse ahead 3-2 with six minutes remaining in the first half and the Seahawks never trailed from then on in their 11-6 achievement over the United State Coast Guard Aademy on the road.
The visiting Seahawks established a 2-0 lead in the first ten minutes of the game thanks to Liam Cooney and Casey Johnson but by 30 seconds into the second quarter the Bears tied it 2-2. Aidan McIntyre's goal put Salve Regina in the lead once again and Ryan Bothe added in to make it 4-2 in favor of the Seahawks with three minutes to go in the first half.
Christopher Bethoney, Mason Barbone and Chris Koltzan combined for a four-goal third quarter giving the team from Newport a sizable 8-3 lead with 15 minutes remaining in regulation. Both the Bears and Seahawks found three goals each in the final quarter with Salve Regina holding on to a five goal lead.
The Seahawks claimed their first NEWMAC win of the season in the first conference game of 2025.

History: The Seahawks achieved their first NEWMAC win ever 12-10 over Coast Guard on March 16 at Toppa Field. Casey Johnson netted the game winning goal with 55 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
