NEW LONDON, Conn. (Tuesday, March 25, 2025)-- Aidan McIntyre and Casey Johnson gave the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the non conference game against Connecticut College on Tuesday but a run from the Camels in the second and third quarters gave the host an 18-9 advantage when the buzzer sounded.
Salve Regina took control of the first quarter with five goals from three different athletes. The visitors successfully held the host to three goals in the first 15 minutes. Connecticut College found an 11-goal scoring run mid-game to pull ahead 14-5.
Men's lacrosse put a stop to the Camels' force three minutes into the fourth quarter. Daniel Naglieri made a pass from his knees to Liam Cooney, who scored from the slot to make it 14-6. Salve Regina found several other scoring opportunities before the verdict was decided. Casey Johnson, Mason Barbone and Justin DeBalsi all tallied goals in the final ten minutes of regulation. Despite the Seahawks halting Conn College's mid-game run, it wasn't enough of a momentum shift to pull even and the Camels walked away with an 18-9 win.
