Seahawks capitulate 19-3 on the road to Engineers

CAIMBRIDGE, Mass. (Saturday, April 12, 2025)-- Sophomore Daniella Bruno sank the first and last of the Salve Regina University women's lacrosse goals against Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Seahawks' away NEWMAC contest on Saturday.

MIT, who forced the No.14 Babson College Beavers to overtime last week, established an early lead with four goals in the opening frame and one to start the second. Engineers' Annica Lam tallied her 40th and 41st goals of the season to start things off.

Three minutes into the second quarter Bruno achieved her eighth season goal and 21st career goal off a pass from Samantha Moleti. Bruno would score again in the third quarter following a goal by senior Edie Threshie, her 23rd of the season.

While the Engineers led 11-3 by the 6:20 mark in the third quarter the point at which they put distance between themselves and the Seahawks was the end of the third and fourth quarters when the host went on an eight-goal run to close out the day 19-3.
