MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Wednesday, April 23, 2025)-- Salve Regina women's lacrosse secured their spot int the NEWMAC postseason tournament with an 18-14 home win over Emerson College in the final game of the 2025 regular season.
Emerson scored the first two goals of the contest and hung with the Seahawks up until the second half, with the game tied 7-7 after 30 minutes. The turning point of the encounter came in the third quarter when the Seahawks scored six unanswered goals thanks to Cameron Baston, Holly Sullivan, Alix Madden and Edie Threshie.
The Lions inched their way back in the remaining fourth quarter but the host maintained a four-goal lead when the buzzer sounded and advanced to postseason play with the quarterfinals held on Saturday, April 26.

Records: Salve Regina (5-10, 4-6 NEWMAC), Emerson (5-11, 1-9 NEWMAC)
History: Last year the Seahawks beat the Lions 19-8 on the road. Prior to the 2024 game the most recent meeting of the two teams was in 2014, when Emerson won 11-4.
