Cooney leads Seahawk scoring in loss to #14/16 Babson

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Saturday, April 5, 2025)-- First Year Nora Cooney led the Salve Regina women's lacrosse team's scoring efforts with two goals and one assist when the team fell 19-7 to the #14/16 Babson College Beavers at home in a NEWMAC game at Gaudet Field on Saturday.

The hosting Seahawks challenged the Beavers early after Cameron Baston matched Babson's initial lead with a goal at the 12:29 mark in the first quarter. Although the visitor went on a run, Cooney put a wrench in the Beavers success with a goal to end the first quarter.

Babson fired off 29 shots on net but not without Edie ThreshieAdelaide BairdAlix Madden, Kayli Garcia and Cooney tallying additional marks before the game expired.

Women's lacrosse dedicated the home game to raise awareness for cancer research as they partnered with Block Cancer.
