Salve Regina sweeps WPI to secure first place

Brayden Clark clocks in 15 Ks, Evan O'Rourke belts two HRs, Grady Schopps collects six hits

WORCESTER, Mass. (Friday, May 2, 2025) -- #11 Salve Regina University baseball locked up first place in the NEWMAC standings with a doubleheader sweep of WPI, 8-0 and 6-2, in the regular season finale for both teams at Granger Field on the campus of Clark University on Friday afternoon.

Grady Schopps went 6-for-7 in the twinbill including the go-ahead two-run double in the nightcap. Evan O'Rourke drove in five of the eight runs for the Seahawks in the opener and smacked a pair of home runs in the late innings.

Brayden Clark (W, 9-2) spun a complete-game, four-hit shutout in the opener while striking out a career-high 15 batters.
