Lyons score in each half to down Seahawks

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Salve Regina University men's soccer fell 2-0 to Wheaton College in the NEWMAC opener for both teams at Toppa Field in Newport, Rhode Island, on Saturday afternoon.

Baden McLaughlin (Yarmouth, Maine) put the #13 Lyons on the board in the 37th minute. After testing Nick Giorgi (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) with several shots, McLaughlin found the back of the net with his third goal of the season. It turned out to be the game-winner but Gael Vera (Westminster, Mass.) finished a nice feed from Declan Rhatigan (Holderness, N.H.) for an insurance tally in the 86th minute.
