Decker secures 100th career point in 3-1 victory over Wildcats

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- (Wednesday, September 3, 2025)-- Salve Regina University field hockey trailed 1-0 five minutes into the contest, but thanks to Georgia Costello, Julia Decker and Angelina Regels the Seahawks came back to win 3-0 against hosting Johnson & Wales University. 

Decker reached 100 career points with the Seahawks second goal of the game at the 36:14 mark. This goal was Decker's seventh goal of the season after she scored six of Salve Regina's nine successes in the 9-0 shutout of Salem State University on opening day.

History: Since the 2013 season Salve Regina has an 8-2 advantage over their Rhode Island foe. In 2024 the Seahawks shutout the Wildcats 2-0 thanks to goals from Costello and Regels.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Freshman goalie Siany Ortez played the full 60 minutes and made two saves. 
  • The Seahawks outshout the Wildcats 30-5.
  • Salve Regina had a 19-2 penalty corner advantage.
