SALEM, Mass. -- The No.15 Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team achieved their 16th victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the hosting Salem State Univeristy Vikings on Tuesday which advances the Seahawks record to 16-3-0.
Salve Regina struck early in the first period, asserting control with two goals inside the opening 11 minutes. Cade DeStefani got the Seahawks on the board at 6:30 with help from Aidan Connolly and Jack Arizo, and just minutes later Arizo added a second goal to put Salve Regina ahead 2–0 before Salem State could settle in.
Salem State responded midway through the first, cutting the deficit to 2–1, but the Seahawks kept the pressure on. After a scoreless second period dominated by tight defensive play from both teams, Salve Regina delivered the decisive strike in the third period.
Aidan Elkins found the back of the net with an assist from Connolly to extend the lead and ultimately seal the 3–1 victory.

History: Earlier this season Salve Regina beat Salem State 6-1. The Seahawks netted four unanswered goals before the Vikings made it on the board with a power play goal as the clock expired on the second quarter.
Thomas Gerum started it off, with his first goal in the Seahawk uniform, less than three minutes into the game.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Selby Warren was reliable in net, making 14 key saves and giving Salve Regina the steadiness the Seahawks needed late in the game.
- Elkins netted his second career goal in today's encounter.
