Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Seahawks outshine Rams, 8-1

FRAMINGHAM, Mass -- The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team prevailed 8-1 over the hosting Framingham State University Rams 8-1 on Saturday night when Morgan Peritz began the scoring early in the first period for the Seahawks.

Salve Regina got to work just under seven minutes into the game when Peritz, set up by Riley Esposito and Kiersten Rasmussen, unlocked the scoreboard. The Seahawks didn't let up, with Lucille DelGallo and Shannon Aube adding goals later in the frame to establish a commanding 3–0 lead after one period.

In the second period, Rasmussen struck again on the power play, part of Salve Regina's perfect 3-for-3 night with a skater advantage, before Framingham State managed a lone goal late in the stanza. But that respite was brief, as the Seahawks continued their momentum in the third. Rasmussen netted two more — including another power-play strike — cementing her standout day with a hat trick. Reese Pereira and Margueritte Donahue also found the back of the net, sealing the eight-goal verdict.

In net, Taylor Hannafan made the most of a comfortable lead, picking up a win with a solid 13-save performance. The defense limited Framingham's opportunities and helped control the pace all three periods.
