Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Brady Plaza nets first NCAA goal, Seahawks best Valiants 5-1

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- No. 14 Salve Regina University men's ice hockey picked up another win to move to 14-2-0 in 2025-26 with a 5-1 victory over Manhattanville University.

The Valiants struck first at 7:04 of the opening period to put Manhattanville ahead 1–0 early. That would be the lone goal for the visitor, as Salve Regina climbed back into the game and took control thanks to a dominant performance over the final two periods.

Salve Regina's offense got on the board early in the second period when Brady Plaza scored at 8:34, knotting the game at 1–1 and shifting the momentum. From there, the Seahawks exploded in the third frame with four unanswered goals. This was Brady Plaza's first goal donning the Seahawk uniform.

The third period opened in emphatic fashion, as Matthew Brunton tallied less than 20 seconds in, followed by a quick strike from Cade DeStefani to push the advantage to 3–1. Jonathan Hammel capitalized on a power-play opportunity, then Grant Hineman added another late in the period to seal the scoring.
