COLCHESTER, Vt. -- No. 14 Salve Regina University men's ice hockey stood out with an 8-2 victory over DII Saint Michael's College Friday night after overcoming a 2-1 deficit.
Salve Regina's scoring got started early when
Logan Calder opened the scoring at 11:14 of the first period with strong support from
Matthew Brunton and
Cody Plaza, which set the tone for the evening. The Seahawks then exploded in the second period, stitching together a three-goal run that tipped the game in their favor after Saint Michael's briefly pulled ahead. Calder struck again midway through the frame, and
Karsten Kruska and Plaza added in to build a 4–2 lead.
In the third period, the Seahawks erupted for four more tallies with standout contributions across the lineup.
Brendan Abban and
Parker Mabbett each found the back of the net, and Calder completed an impressive night with his third goal of the game, finishing with a hat trick.
