NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team tied it up 1-1 at the beginning of the third period but Albertus Magnus College went on to score twice in the final five minutes of play to favor the Falcons 3-1 on Friday night.
The Falcons were the first to strike with a goal from the slot 34 seconds into the second period but the Seahawks prevented the host from scoring again through the remainder of the frame. Salve Regina answered back when
Morgan Peritz scored midway through the third period off a pass from
Caroline Batchelder and
Sunshine Clark. Albertus Magnus put their special teams unit to work with two goals nearing the end of the encounter, one on the power play and the other short-handed.

History: The Falcons added women's ice hockey as a DIII sport beginning with the 2023-24 season and since then Salve Regina has faced Albertus Magnus 4 times. Salve Is currently 4-1 against Albertus. The last meeting on November 23, 2024, was a 4-2 victory for the Seahawks.
