NEWPORT, R.I. (October 13, 2026) -- For the second straight week, Salve Regina University women's soccer earns a spot on the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization of Coaches (IWSOC) weekly regional poll. Last week, the Seahawks (7-2-3 overall) played nationally fifth-ranked MIT and regionally seventh-ranked WPI and had a 1-0 loss before a 2-1 victory.
REGION II - WEEK 5 - OCTOBER 13, 2026
MIT (11-2-1) remains atop the Region II rankings and the next four schools are the same (with flipping among Hartford and Roger Williams) while Salve Regina takes the sixth spot for Week 5 after appearing there last week.

The 2-1 win over the Engineers on Saturday featured a goal by sophomore Alexandra Epright (Middletown, R.I.) and senior Allie Gallagher (Staten Island, N.Y.). Gallagher had joined nine other classmates -- Lily Chhun (Windham, N.H.), Ava DeSimone (Mashpee, Mass.), Lana DiIuro (East Greenwich, R.I.), Harper Foscaldo (Medfield, Mass.), Sydney Giampapa (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Sabrina Lawless (Milford, Conn.), Carah Leclair (Bellingham, Mass.), Sophie Mulligan (Portsmouth, R.I.), Olivia Tacconi (Waldwick, N.J.) -- in pre-game ceremonies on Senior Day.

Seahawk head coach Tanya Roberts: "This season I'm proud of how our team has adjusted to the games we've played. Every team we face makes us better with different obstacles and we've done a good job of adapting. We train hard and play harder, one of our values is to stay locked in and pivot when needed. As for the rankings, we value playing as a team and no one person is better than another and once we start to stray the course, I make sure to hold them accountable. We haven't made playoffs in the NEWMAC yet and that is our goal. While rankings are great they also don't define us."
