MIDDLETOWN, R.I.-- Thanks to Chris Koltzan and Casey Johnson, who each netted four goals, the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team beat the Roger Williams University Hawks 14-3 in a stunning fashion with an immediate 8-0 run.
Salve Regina jumped out fast and never looked back. Aidan McIntyre started the scoring early in the first quarter, and Chris Koltzan quickly followed, giving the Seahawks an early 2–0 advantage.
By halftime, the Seahawks led 5–0 thanks to three goals from Koltzan and a strike from Casey Johnson. In the third quarter, Salve Regina stretched its lead further behind additional tallies from Daniel Naglieri and Johnson, while Roger Williams managed to get on the board with two goals, though they couldn't slow the Seahawks' offensive pace.
The fourth quarter saw Salve Regina continue its offensive surge, adding five more goals, with contributions from Koltzan, Naglieri, Jared Zevzavadjian, and Johnson. Roger Williams added a lone fourth-quarter goal, but Salve Regina's depth and ball control were on full display throughout the game.
