14 bases on balls and eight base hits carry Salve Regina to shutout victory

WASHINGTON D.C. - #5/#10 Salve Regina University baseball enjoyed an eight-run second inning to coast to a 16-0 victory over Dickinson College in the fourth game of the Matt Kurkjian ALS Awareness Invitational hosted by Catholic University at Talbot Field on Saturday afternoon in the nation's capital.

Seahawk starting pitcher Nolan Romanowski (Wynantskill, N.Y.) went six scoreless innings and struck out five Red Devils while allowing just seven base runners on six hits and a walk. Three relievers -- LJ Keevan (Holden, Mass.), James Keating (Norwood, N.J.), and Hunter Alten (Chatham, Mass.) -- each pitched a scoreless frame.

Eight different Seahawks had a base hit with extra bases (doubles) for Shea Donovan (Milton, Mass.), Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.), and Elliot Hamilton (Glastonbury, Conn.). Donovan drove in three runs while Brady Smolinski (North Grafton, Mass.) and Andrew Salbinski (Essex, Conn.) both had a pair of runs batted in.
