MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team established an early 1-0 lead but the Wesleyan University Cardinals went on to score four unanswered goals resulting in a 4-1 decision in favor of the visitor Saturday night in Middletown.

The Seahawks struck first, as
Riley Esposito pounced on an early chance with an unassisted tally at 5:35 of the first, giving Salve Regina an early 1–0 lead. From there, the Cardinals responded with momentum of their own. Wesleyan answered with a power-play goal midway through the opening period, and then added another before the first intermission to take a 2–1 edge.
Wesleyan eventually broke the game open late, scoring at 18:14 of the third on a short-handed, empty-net goal that pushed their lead to 4–1.
