AUBURNDALE, Fla. (March 18, 2026) -- Fourth-ranked Salve Regina University baseball continued its strong start to the 2026 season on March 18 with a decisive 14–3 victory over SUNY Brockport at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.
The Seahawks (9–1) broke open what was briefly a competitive game with a relentless middle-innings surge, scoring in five different frames and capitalizing on Brockport miscues to pull away. After trailing 1–0 in the first inning, Salve Regina responded immediately with a three-run second and never relinquished control.
The offensive centerpiece was
Jake Harring (Portsmouth, N.H.), who delivered a standout performance at the plate. The infielder went 3-for-5 with four RBIs, driving in runs in multiple innings as part of a 12-hit attack. Harring's two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth inning that effectively put the game out of reach, stretching the lead to 8–1 before another run crossed on a steal of home later in the frame.
Elliot Hamilton (Glastonbury, Conn.) added power to the effort with a solo home run in the third inning, while
Danny Rogers (New Canaan, Conn.) chipped in three hits to keep the lineup moving. The Seahawks also showed situational execution, with sacrifice flies from
Shea Donovan (Milton, Mass.) and
Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.) contributing to the steady scoring output.
On the mound,
Carrick Ryan (Durham, N.C.) earned the win, guiding a staff that limited Brockport to three runs on nine hits. The Golden Eagles' biggest swing came in the fifth inning, when
Cole Grazioplene (Batavia, N.Y.) launched a two-run homer to briefly cut into the deficit, but the momentum was short-lived as Salve Regina answered with three more runs in the seventh.
Defensively, Salve Regina played a clean game, committing no errors, while Brockport's three errors proved costly and contributed to several unearned runs during the Seahawks' decisive rally.
By the final innings, the outcome was no longer in doubt. Salve Regina tacked on insurance runs in the seventh and ninth to cap a comprehensive performance, reinforcing its early-season form with a balanced showing of timely hitting, opportunistic baserunning, and steady pitching.
The No.4 Seahawks finish their Florida slate with a 10 a.m. matchup against Bethel (Minn.) University on Thursday at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.
