NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Salve Regina University women's lacrosse battled with hosting Smith College, but ultimately fell 8-7 when the Bears snagged an overtime goal just 1:21 into the sudden victory period.
Salve Regina began scoring early after Daniella Bruno '26 netted a goal less than a minute into the encounter. Alix Madden '27 followed Bruno's charge with another strike in the first quarter before Smith could make it onto the board. Bruno would go on to total four goals on the night, with Madden scoring a hat trick.
After 59 minutes of back and forth action, the Bears tied it at 7-7 with 38 seconds to go in regulation and took advantage of the momentum to control the overtime period.

NOTEWORTHY
- Salve and Smith were closely matched in shots on net, with the Seahawks just slightly outshooting the Bears 18-16.
- In 2025 Smith beat Salve Regina 12-4. Samantha Moleti '25, Cameron Baston '25 and current student-athletes Nora Cooney '28 and Bruno scored in the encounter.
- The Seahawks picked up nine ground balls lead by Adelaide Baird, who had two. Baird also caused four turnovers as a defensive leader.
