#4 Seahawks sweep non-league twinbill with Corsairs

Elliot Hamilton slugs four extra-base hits including grand slam

NEWPORT, R.I. (April 11, 2026) -- No. 4-ranked Salve Regina University baseball scored a season-high 24 runs in the nightcap of a doubleheader sweep over UMass Darmouth at Reynolds Field on Saturday afternoon in Newport, Rhode Island. In the opener, the Seahawks won 10-5 and starting pitcher Nolan Romanowski (Wynantskill, N.Y.) improved to 8-0 on the season while striking out six Corsairs. Elliot Hamilton (Glastonbury, Conn.) highlighted the offense with a sixth-inning grand slam. In the nightcap, the Seahawk offense got in high gear from the start with a season-best 12 runs in the first frame. Five different Salve Regina players drove in three runs apiece -- Shea Donovan (Milton, Mass.), Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.), Grady Schopps (Fairfield, Conn.), James Anastasopoulos (Sherborn, Mass.), and Hamilton -- to contribute to the 24-5 final.

Salve Regina (22-2) wins its ninth straight while UMass Dartmouth slides to 13-16 overall.
