Seahawks pick up NEWMAC victory over Cougars

WORCESTER, Mass.-- Salve Regina University women's lacrosse junior Alix Madden scored the team high of six goals against Clark University in the Seahawks 13-6 NEWMAC conference win over Clark University Saturday.

Nora Cooney, Avery Nistl and Madden all got the day going in the first quarter, in a back-and-forth battle with the hosting Cougars. Late in the second quarter Salve Regina would take the lead for good when Madison Maire sank three consecutive goals. The Seahawks would pull away 9-5 before the end of the first half. 

Salve Regina extended this lead in the third and fourth quarters when Delia Tarasco added in. Maire and Madden each found the back of the net again in the second half as key contributors in the win.

Women's lacrosse is home at Gaudet Field on Wednesday, April 22. The Seahawks host the Bears from the United States Coast Guard Academy at 6 p.m.
