NEWPORT, R.I. (Saturday, September 19, 2026) -- After a scoreless first half, Salve Regina University senior captain Carah Leclair (Bellingham, Mass.) scored two goals in the first four minutes of the second half and the Seahawks cruised to a 6-0 win over visiting Mount Holyoke College in New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Reynolds Field in Newport, Rhode Island.

The Lyons leading scorer, Sage Hudson (Washington, D.C.), had the first chance at a score as she put a shot on the Seahawk goalkeeper Sabrina Lawless (Milford, Conn.) nine seconds after the first touch. Salve Regina had a flurry of attempts but were denied by Mount Holyoke keeper Emma Zoubok (Somers, N.Y.). Zoubok finished with a career-high 16 saves in the loss.

Leclair scored her third goal of the season just 86 seconds into the second half. Another unassisted tally followed less than two minutes later as the captain catapulted into the scoring lead for the Seahawks in 2026 (four goals for eight points).

Olivia Tacconi (Waldwick, N.J.) made it a 3-0 game before four minutes had elapsed after intermission. The Seahawks added three more goals from three different players -- Maddie Hudson (Nahant, Mass.), Alexandra Epright (Middletown, Conn.), and Lana DiIuro (East Greenwich, R.I.).

The host Seahawks (2-1-3, 1-0-0 NEWMAC) managed a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks, including 9-0 in the first half. The visiting Lyons (2-3-1, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) were outshot by a 30-3 margin, including 17-1 in the second half.

Lawless made four stops in the win as the Seahawks ended the Lyons three-game unbeaten string.
