DARTMOUTH, Mass.-- Salve Regina University women's cross country and men's cross country began their 2026 campaign racing the 3K and 5K respectively at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.
The women's team finished in ninth overall with
Anna Weygang (Farmington, Conn.) leading the charge at in 18th place with a time of 12:05.4.
Isabella Hastings (Grantham, N.H,) was the next Seahawk to cross the line in 12:21.1 for 25th place.
"Rookie
Caroline Conway (Nanuet, N.Y.) was the Seahawks third runner in her first collegiate race," said head cross country coach
Kacie Gallo '08. "
Hannah Tadros (Seekonk, Mass.) and
Emma McFadden (Westerlo, N.Y.) completed the scoring lineup. Yesterday was a great start to the season for the group."
On the men's side
Justin Ruffler (Sherman, Conn.) led the way with a time of 17:55.8.
The Seahawks will be back at it on Saturday, September 12, at the George Suitor Invitational hosted by Trinity College.
