NEWPORT, R.I. - Defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) softball champion Salve Regina University started its 2017 league slate with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Gordon College, 8-0 in both games by mercy rule, the first in six innings and the second in five innings.
