MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat visiting Nichols College 15-7 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday evening at Gaudet Field.

  2. Salve Regina junior Kieran Hughes (Oradell, N.J.) won 10-of-14 faceoffs, grabbed eight ground balls, and scored his first goal of the season.
  3. Nichols senior Cian Keohane (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) scored four times for the visitors.

Turning Point
Keohane netted the first two goals of the game to put Nichols on top 2-0 with 7:11 to play in the first quarter. Kieran Hughes put the Seahawks on the board just six seconds later when he won the ensuing draw cleanly and raced ahead to the attacking end, straight to goal and fired home his first of the year. The goal sparked a 7-0 scoring run for the Seahawks that the Bison could never recover from.
