Box Score 2 GAME ONE
This seven-inning game was not a story of a lack of offense for the Seahawks, but one of mere pitching dominance for the Polar Bears. The Polar Bears struck out five Seahawk batters and allowed just two hits through seven innings as Salve's Chloe Bean (Clinton, N.J.) singled in the first inning.
The Seahawks were in it for most of the game due to the pitching from Seahawk ace Alex Kelly (East Meadow, N.Y.), who allowed one run on three hits while striking out five. The Polar Bears offense got hot at the right time and delivered six runs in two innings to cap off their 7-0 victory.
GAME TWO
The Roadrunners hit .400 and drove in all eight runs in just two innings, with seven in the third and one in the fifth. The Seahawks offense failed to get on the board in a second straight game despite the success of Seahawks lead off hitter Jacey Cosciello (Seymour, Conn.) who went 3-3 on the day and led off the game with a triple.
The Seahawks have had opportunities to drive runners in, but did not have the timely hitting they have needed in their young season. The Seahawks will play Smith College and No. 11 Case Western Reserve University on Monday in Winter Haven, Florida.
