Box Score NEWPORT, R.I. -- The Seahawks were firing on all cylinders in their historic victory over Roger Williams in the CCC Tournament on Thursday, coming through with a 24-1 win at Reynolds Field.
Everything went right for Salve on Thursday afternoon. Everything. From starting pitching to timely hitting, the Seahawks went bell to bell every at-bat and cruised to a massive victory. In the fourth and fifth innings, the Seahawks delivered 13 and eight runs in each respective frame. The man of the hour was Christian Homa (Fairfield, Conn.), who went 5-for-5 at the plate with two homers, a double, and eight RBIs. Gianfranco Messina () was also on fire, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and five runs batted in. Wil McCarthy (Pembroke, Mass.) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Mike Breen (Auburn, Mass.) was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored. Every hitter contributed throughout the laser show from the 21-hit Seahawks, who produced over 20 runs for the third time this season.
Brayden Clark (Beverly, Mass.) got the start and the Seahawks ace did not have much work cut out for him due to the comfortable cushion the offense gave him. Clark went four shutout innings allowing two hits, fanning five. Clark notched his ninth win of the season, which leads the CCC. Allowing a pitcher of Clark's caliber to go just four breezy innings could turn out to be a huge advantage for the Seahawks as the tournament continues, as it keeps gas in the tank for the Seahawks' most dominant pitcher this season.
The two-seed No.13/18 Seahawks (35-6-1) take their lengthy unbeaten streak of 25 games into a marquee matchup with the one-seed No. 4/6 Endicott College Gulls (37-5) for a chance to advance to the CCC Championship Game. The game will take place at North Field in Beverly, Massachusetts with first pitch coming at 12:00 P.M.
