Box Score 2 BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 18 Seahawks came into Saturday's championship having to win twice to eliminate No. 4 Endicott College, but the Gulls would win the second of two games to crown themselves as the 2023 CCC Champions in a 1-0 slugfest.
It was a hard fought battle between the Gulls and the Seahawks with the game being scoreless for the majority of it. Seahawks starter, freshman Brendan Foley (Burlington, Conn.), went 5.1 IP allowing no runs and just four hits. It wasn't until the seventh inning when a warning-track sacrifice fly would allow for the one and only run of the ball game to cross the plate for the Gulls to seal the deal for the eventual conference champions.
The two-seed Seahawks put together a successful season, going 37-8-1 that included a 25-game unbeaten streak that both sprouted and ended with a loss to the eventual conference champion Gulls. The Seahawks season should continue with a bid in the Regionals, as time will tell upon the release of seeding and scheduling.
