Box Score MILTON, Mass. -- In a game that was never close, Salve Regina throttled the Curry College Colonels 15-1 in a mercy-rule defeat on Wednesday.
The Seahawk bats were led by a familiar face in Wil McCarthy (Pembroke, Mass.), who went 3-for-3 with a double and six RBIs. Mike Breen (Auburn, Mass.) saw great production as well, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Matt D'Amato (Midland Park, N.J.) went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Salve scored 14 of their 15 runs through the first four innings to effectively defeat a struggling Curry side through seven innings.
Sean Mulligan started on the hill for the Seahawks and was under little to no pressure due to the comfortable cushion the Salve bats established early. Mulligan went just three innings, allowing one run on two hits with a lone K. Mulligan has been quietly reliable for the Seahawks this season, ranking second in ERA in the CCC (2.54).
The Seahawks (29-6-1, 11-2-1 CCC) wrap up conference play and play their final home regular season games with a doubleheader versus Nichols College on Friday at Reynolds Field. Salve Regina is looking to make it through 21 straight games without a loss (20-0-1), having won 11 straight.
